The City of Tehachapi presented an independent auditor’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018 to the Tehachapi City Council on February 4.
The City’s general fund as well as the enterprise funds of water, sewer and the airport were all included in this report which reviews the City’s financial statements and accounting practices. Additionally, this year City staff included statistics on financial trends, revenue capacity, debt capacity as well as demographic and economic information.
The independent auditing firm also presented to the City Council, noting the City’s strong accounting practices, fiscal responsibility and strong operating reserves. The auditor’s report claims “during our audit we did not identify any deficiencies in internal control that we consider to be material weaknesses.” Additionally, the report stated “the results of our tests disclosed no instances of noncompliance or other matters that are required to be reported under Governmental Auditing Standards.”
