History of the Fez Cafe

Located in the heart of downtown, The Fez Cafe offers Tehachapi residents and visitors a chance to experience fine international cuisine without the hassle of driving down the mountain.

Long time business owners, Reem and Ray Haddad came to Tehachapi in 1991 when they purchased a gas station downtown.  Having four children, the Haddad's felt Tehachapi would be a great place to raise their family, enjoying Tehachapi's feeling of safety and simplicity.

As their successes grew, they opened Tehachapi Automotive.  While Ray ran the automotive shop, Reem stayed at home with their children, pushing her dream of one day opening a restaurant to the back burner. In 2011, however, that dream finally became a reality.

Grand Opening
Owners, Reem and Ray Haddad opened The Fez Cafe on May 23, 2011.  It had been Reem's dream to open a restaurant that offered fresh foods and an amazing ambiance, and that's exactly what she did.  Reem prides herself on the restaurants wide variety of foods, containing no preservatives and made entirely from scratch.  Customers can enjoy their meal on linen tables indoors or choose to eat under the clear Tehachapi skies on their heated patio.
Reem encourages residents to come on down when they want to enjoy a nice evening close to home.  In time, she hopes to bring awareness of healthy eating habits to Tehachapi residents and be able to donate more to local charities.
