Tehachapi Municipal Airport is ideally situated close to Southern California's film industry and offers a wide variety of shot selections and scenes to serve a multitude of film, television and commercial projects. Located at 4,001 feet of elevation, this airport provides both a wonderful mountain backdrop for scenes, a 4,031-foot long asphalt runway, nearby taxiways and buildings on site suitable for film needs. 

Located just off nearby Highway 58 in the Tehachapi Valley surrounded by the Tehachapi Mountain range connecting to the nearby Southern Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Filming Environment/Weather:
Scenic mountain surroundings with vegetation, trees. Nearby highway commerce on the north end. 
Home to a true four-season climate, the average temperatures range from the mid-50's to the high-80's in the spring/summer to the low-50's to the high-20's in the winter. The area does receive a total average of 11 inches of precipitation and 23 inches of snow per year, providing snow-capped mountains for background shots during the winter/early spring months.

In addition, the Tehachapi Pass is the highest wind energy producing pass in the world, creating a unique backdrop to the east of rolling hills covered by wind turbines.
