2022 Election Information - 

The nomination period for the 2022 election of Districts 1, 4, & 5 was July 18 - August 11 at 5:30pm. Pursuant to Elections Code 10229, on August 23, 2022 the City Council voted to appoint to the offices those who had been nominated. Certification that there were not more candidates than offices to be elected can be found here

How do I register to vote?

Visit the link below to register to vote or check your registration status. The last day to register to vote for the November 8, 2022, General Election is October 24, 2022.

How will I receive my ballot?

All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 8, General Election. The County elections office will begin mailing ballots no later than October 10, 2022.

What will  my ballot include?

For those registered to vote in the City of Tehachapi, your ballot will include Local Measure S - For information regarding the Local Control Measure S, click here.

Additionally, your ballot will include:

  • 7 Ballot Propositions
  • Statewide candidates for U.S. Senate, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Attorney General, Insurance Commissioner, Member of State Board of Equalization, State Superintendent of Public Instruction
  • U.S. Representative in Congress, State Senator, State Assembly Member
  • Supreme Court Justices, as well as other local candidates and local measures.

How do I return my vote-by-mail ballot?

Your vote-by-mail ballot can be returned by mail with prepaid postage as long as it's postmarked on or before the election day and received by November 15, 2022. You can also return your ballot in-person to a secure ballot box, to a voting location, or the Kern County elections office by 8:00pm on November 8, 2022.
