[ARCHIVED] TPD To Host Identity Theft Awareness Presentation

The Tehachapi Police Department has rescheduled its community presentation alerting the public on how to avoid being a victim of identity theft and how to recover after being victimized. The presentation will be Thursday November 16, 2017 at 6pm in the Tehachapi Police Department community room.

"ID Theft is a crime that can disrupt your life very quickly. Learning a few strategies to protect your personal information is well worth the time you will spend listening to this presentation," said TPD Chief Kent Kroeger.

Millions of Americans have had their personal information compromised over the past months due to multiple data breaches. The seminar will provide information on how to keep your identity safe, how to determine if you are at risk of becoming a victim and how to recover from being victimized.

The presentation will be feature a retired identity theft detective who has shared his experiences across the country with financial institutions, law enforcement and the public.
